Site Security and Event Planning Consultation
A directed consultation to surface your organization’s foremost security concerns and collaboratively generate a prioritized punch-list of next steps. Performing the consultation on site allows for granular recommendations for managing access, lockdown options, and reinforcing inner and outer perimeters. Adding a Vulnerability Assessment & Mitigation Plan provides a roadmap for future improvements and government grant applications.
A 2-hour session recasting the FEMA Incident Command System for use by nonprofits. The interactive approach teaches leadership and staff the basics of organizing to manage the aftermath of a natural disaster, health emergency, or threat from hostile persons. About Us
Meerkats have mastered the art of community security. Their tight-knit social groups approach it as a shared responsibility, taking turns as lookouts while the other adults forage or tend to the young. If sentinels detect a threat, they band together to ward off predators. Their resourcefulness and self-reliance are the inspiration for our work.
Safer communities begin with a shared commitment to security. Meerkat Security Consulting helps houses of worship, schools and nonprofit organizations create a secure and welcoming environment for community life to thrive.
Our services unlock the abilities and resources needed to enhance and sustain a secure future.
Meet Rafael
The Meerkat™ approach to community security is the brainchild of Rafael Brinner. After dedicating more than 20 years to countering foreign terrorist threats with federal, state, and local agencies, Rafael pioneered a new approach to community security centered around countering fear.
In 2018, he left federal service to confront the growing threat to local communities from hate and domestic terrorism, leveraging his expertise to build a community security program for the San Francisco Bay Area’s Jewish community. Over the course of eight years, he elevated the security preparedness of more than 150 houses of worship, community centers, schools, and other nonprofits by sharing best practices and training their leadership, personnel, and volunteers. He also guided more than 100 successful nonprofit security grant applications amounting to over $22 million in government grants
Meerkat Security Consulting is the culmination of his government and nonprofit careers, distilling the experience and expertise accrued on his journey from countering terrorism to countering fear.
